NPP Flagbearership Race: Alan Kyerematen’s Representative Picks Up Nomination Forms

Former Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, campaign team led by market queens picked up nomination forms on his behalf for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential election today, May 31, 2023.

Some members of his campaign staff and market queens from various markets in Accra and Kumasi led the group.

At the NPP headquarters, Nana Abena Serwaa Comfort, who introduced herself as the head of Kumasi’s Tomato market, expressed gratitude to Mr. Kyerematen for the tremendous support she and her colleagues got during challenging times.

She asserts that, they pledged to make donations, raise the filing fees, and pick up nomination forms on his behalf.

According to Madam Serwaa, many market women have seen an increase in their profits since Mr. Kyerematen became Trade Minister, therefore, they feel the country would benefit from his work if he were elected president.

On the other hand, Mr. Kyeremanten isn’t the only NPP member to have already picked up an election form. So far, seven people have picked up nomination forms to run for the flagbearer race. On Tuesday, a group led by Fred Oware, the former CEO of the Bui Power Authority, and Sammi Awuku, the Director-General of the National Lottery Authority, picked up forms on behalf of Vice President Dr. Bawumia.

Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, Party Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Mampong MP Francis Addai-Nimoh, Agriculture Minister Dr. Owusu Afryie Akoto, and Energy Analyst Kwadwo Poku have all taken up forms for the flagbearer race.
