NSMQ 2023: John Dumelo To Walk Backward To Legon PRESEC

John Dumelo says he is a man of his word hence he will fulfill his promise of walking backward and barefooted after Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC) emerged victorious in the 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).

This highly anticipated event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. On October 22, 2023, Dumelo made a solemn vow to walk barefoot all the way to PRESEC if the school emerged as the winner of the prestigious NSMQ. He took to Twitter to write:

I am a proud Achimotan but If presec wins the #NSMQ2023 on the 31st I will walk barefoot backwards from Ayawaso West Wuogon to presec school! They can’t win over Motown! Presec? Tweeeaa!!!

Unfortunately for him, PRESEC triumphed over their competitors, Opoku Ware Senior High School and Achimota Secondary School.

This remarkable victory marks PRESEC’s eighth win in the history of the competition, having previously emerged victorious in 1995, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2020, and 2022.

The school secured their victory with an impressive total of 40 points accumulated over five rounds of intense intellectual competition.

Achimota Secondary School secured the second position with a commendable score of 28 points, while Opoku Ware Senior High School trailed behind with 23 points.

In order to do so, his past actions gained popularity, encouraging him to break out of his introverted nature and express his willingness to follow through with his words.

I am a man of my words. I will be walking backwards barefoot from the UG main gate to Presec main gate Tommrow 31st Oct at 4pm. I want to congratulate Presec for winning the #NSMQGrandFinale. I am wholeheartedly proud of my Achimota school and also OWASS. I will walk the talk. #idey4u
