Fred Nuamah To Run For NDC Parliamentary Primaries At Ayawaso West Wuogon

Ghanaian actor, film director and producer best known for his role in the movie The Game, Fred Nuamah has declared his intention to run for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency seat held by the National Democratic Congress.

Fred Nuamah rose to prominence after he starred in the movie Matters of the Heart in 1993. He went on to play supporting roles in films including The Prince Bride, Heart of Men, Material Girl and 4 Play. In 2010, Nuamah appeared in The Game, directed by Abdul Salam Mumuni.

Mr Nuamah is well-known in Ghana for his contributions to the film business alongside his colleague John Dumelo. During the National Democratic Congress (Ghana) NDC Party’s Campaign In 2016, Dumelo was one of the most influential and outstanding celebrities who were seen campaigning for the NDC Government.

It is presently unknown who John Dumelo will be running against for the National Democratic Congress’s constituency seat in the upcoming elections.

In July 2019, John Dumelo contested for the NDC parliamentary primaries and he won to represent the NDC in Ayawaso West Wougon Constituency in the 2020 General Elections but in December 2020, John Dumelo lost the elections to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Lydia Alhassan for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

However, on May 13, 2023, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will have its primaries for both the presidency and the parliament.

According to the party’s platform, prospective members of parliament will be required to select a form (at a cost of GH5,000) and pay a non-refundable filing fee (of GH40,000).

Candidates for the presidency must pay GH30,000 for forms and a non-refundable GH500,000 filing fee.
