Nyashinski’s music career began as a member of Kleptomaniax while he was still a high school student at Nairobi School, where he encountered Roba (Robert Manyasa) and Collo (Collins Majale) in 1999.
In 2002, while both members were still in high school, they released their debut single, “Freak It,” on the Ogopa DJs music label, followed by the major successes “Maniax Anthem” and “Haree.”
“Tuendelee, “released in 2004, was one of the group’s most popular songs, garnering them a dozen nominations and awards, gaining attention from proponents of entertainment in Kenya. In 2009, the trio disbanded after both members decided to pursue solo endeavours.
After Kleptomaniac’s disbandment, Nyashinski took a 10-year hiatus from musical activity; he returned in 2016.
In 2017, his song “Malaika” won the Mdundo Award for Most Downloaded Male Single.
