OccupyJulorbiHouse: If My Mom Had £7m In Her Acocunt, Would You Have Asked Me To Protest?- Yaa Pono

Rapper Yaa Pono recently posted a sarcastic message explaining why he isn’t participating in the country’s ongoing #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest, which has incensed many Ghanaians.

He stated that rather than expending energy on what he called a “wasteful protest,” he would rather spend time eating banku and okro soup. He added that no one would have dared to urge him to attend the protest if he had wealthy parents.

The musician supported his arguments further by pointing out that the celebrities who are currently taking part in the protest would eventually be seen supporting the same politicians they are condemning.

“Me I no get time to protest, anka menoa Banku ne Nkruma wo fie, u go see the same ppl for rallies with their grandparents, artists going in for money as usual. If like my mother get 7 million pounds u go call me for protest,” Yaa Pono wrote on his twitter page.

Meanwhile, the #OccupyJulorBiHouse demonstration has entered day two of its action.

Some celebrities who have joined the protest include Kelvin Boy, Efia Odo, Sadik Sulley (SDK), El, and others. Ghanaian musician, Kojo Ansah Asare, popularly known as Yaa Pono, has refused to join the ongoing #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest currently taking place in the country.

Relatedly, the leaders of the Fix the Country movement (organisers of the Occupy Jubilee House protest) have exposed the ruling government for allegedly trying to bribe them with a whopping $1 million to halt their demonstration.

In a post shared on the group’s official page on Twitter, the group alleged that a cabinet minister met with them and tried to coerce them to back down on their proposed protest with the aforementioned amount, but they rejected it since they wanted a better Ghana.

The post reads:

Since they want it this way we will talk . The cabinet promised us $1 million if only we can stop the demonstration. We rejected! We want a better Ghana 🇬🇭💔
