Orlando Bloom Overly Excited That Katy Perry Will Perform At King Charles’ Coronation On May 7
Orlando Bloom recently shared his excitement over fiancée Katy Perry performing at King Charles III’s coronation concert in London on May 7.
“My girl’s gonna be singing, that’s fun. I’m not gonna make it there, sadly, but she’s representing which is cool,” the British-born actor told ET’s Ash Crossan. “She does those big, historical things. It’s wonderful. She sang for the president too. She does that.”
“Who’s left?” he quipped. “Maybe the pope. So yeah, it’s exciting,” he spoke to ET during Sony Pictures’ presentation at CinemaCon 2023 in Las Vegas this week about his movie, Gran Turismo — in theaters Aug. 11.
On May 6, Charles is formally crowned at Westminster Abbey, establishing his position as head of the Church of England and officially transferring his title and authority.
The next day, on the grounds of Windsor Castle in England, there will be a star-studded coronation concert where Perry and other top performers will take the stage.
ET previously spoke to Kate Perry about her role in the upcoming festivities.
“I’m grateful I get to go. I met His Majesty-to-be a few years ago and he named me as one of the ambassadors to his organization, The British Asian Trust, which is an organization that helps fight to end child trafficking,”
Perry shared of being chosen for Charles’ coronation concert. “So, I’m also an ambassador for UNICEF, and it really aligned with my values. That’s mostly why I’m going, to be an ambassador and to say, ‘Hey, this is me from the USA.’ No, but it’s so cool.”

Katy Perry is not married yet but is in a serious relationship with Orlando Bloom. The duo first crossed paths in 2016 while arguing over a burger; today, the two are a blissfully engaged couple with a daughter.
Less than a year after taking a break in 2017, they resumed their romance, and their relationship progressed. Despite the COVID-19 epidemic delaying their planned wedding, Bloom proposed to Perry on Valentine’s Day in 2019. The pair moved in together and welcomed their first child, Daisy Dove Bloom, in August 2020.
“Every day your options change, and you don’t know what’s what. Especially being pregnant in a pandemic, it’s an emotional rollercoaster,” Perry told PEOPLE in an interview about their relationship last month. However, she credits her fiancé with being able to overcome life’s curveballs. Her future goals are to have “family and love and laughing and coziness.”
