Otumfuo Won’t See My Face – ‘Stubborn’ Maurice Ampaw Declines Summons

Celebrity Maurice Ampaw has firmly stated that he will not comply with the summons issued by the Kumasi Traditional Council.

He expresses his uncertainty about the purpose of his visit to the Manhyia Palace, as he believes that they have already judged him without seeking his side of the story. Ampaw argues that the Ashanti Chiefs have displayed bias in this matter, making it pointless for him to attend the meeting on Monday as summoned.

According to him, the Chiefs should have exercised wisdom and refrained from passing judgment when representatives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) visited the palace to plead on behalf of Chairman Wontumi. Ampaw’s summons by the Kumasi Traditional Council is scheduled for Monday, January 29, 2024.

It is alleged that Ampaw insulted the Chiefs on Wontumi Radio after they summoned Chairman Wontumi for insubordination. However, Ampaw firmly stands his ground and refuses to comply with the Chiefs’ orders, emphasizing that they are not above the Constitution and therefore cannot dictate his actions.
