Patoranking’s Biography

Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, born May 27, 1990, is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter best known by his stage name Patoranking. He was born and bred in Ijegun-Egba Satellite Town, and hailed from Onicha, Ebonyi State.

He initially attended Citizen Comprehensive College in Epe, Lagos, before transferring to Jibril Martin Memorial Grammar School in Iponri.

Music Career

Patoranking began his career in the performing arts as a street jam and funfair performer and collaborating with underground performers such as XProject, Konga, and Slam. In 2010, he signed a record contract with K-Solo’s Igberaga Records and released “Up in D Club” through the label.

After collaborating with Timaya on his single “Alubarika,” in 2012. Patoranking became a protégé of Dem Mama Records. In February 2014, he signed a record contract with Foston Musik and released the single “Girlie O,” which brought him to prominence.

Patoranking announced on Instagram on February 9, 2015 that he had signed a distribution agreement with VP Records. Patoranking released a song titled Abule on September 28, 2020 in advance of the release of his upcoming album.

On 19 May 2014, Foston Musik released the critically acclaimed “Girlie O” (Remix) featuring Tiwa Savage. It debuted at No. 9 on the Official Naija Top 10 chart on MTV Base. Tiwa Savage revealed to Ehiz of MTV Base that she admires Patoranking’s music and reached out to him to collaborate on the remix.

The singles “Daniella Whine” and “My Woman, My Everything” by Patoranking made it onto the MTV Base Official Naija Top 10 chart. The former debuted at No. 4 in May and atop the chart at No. 1 in June, whereas “My Woman, My Everything” peaked at No. 2 on the chart.

His debut album “God over Everything” was released in 2016.
