Popular Nollywood Actor, Mr Ibu Is Dead

Reports from various online platforms in Nigeria have verified the death of popular Nigerian comedian Mr Ibu.

Despite the heartbreaking news, many fans are hoping that the reports are inaccurate and do not reflect the true situation.

The circumstances surrounding the death of Mr Ibu, whose real name is John Okafor, have not been fully examined, as updates on this matter are still emerging.

Sources in his inner circle have disclosed that the seasoned actor breathed his last at Evercare Hospital. Numerous fans have expressed their sympathies on social media, recalling the movies in which the deceased actor starred.

The renowned actor has been facing certain health difficulties, including the recent amputation of his leg as a life-saving measure. The family of Mr Ibu recently refuted claims that he recently underwent a second surgery resulting in the amputation of his second leg.

Earlier reports suggested that the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) stated that he was struggling to communicate following the amputation of his other leg.

AGN National President, Dr. Emeka Rollas had said; “We are resigning to fate concerning the two actors. As I speak with you, Mr Ibu hardly talks again and he has undergone another leg amputation.”

However, Valatine Okafor clarified on Saturday via a response on Ibu’s Instagram page that the second amputation was performed on the same leg that had previously undergone amputation.

The reason behind their decision, as stated in an official statement, was that the initial amputation did not fully resolve his health condition.

According to the family, the actor has not been transported overseas for advanced medical care due to doctors deeming him “unfit for air travel.” Valatine also mentioned that the renowned comedian was recovering. Click here to read more.
