Seasons of the San,” his debut album, was published in 2002 on the Ogopa Deejays label. After the publication of his debut album, Redsan’s career skyrocketed, as he performed more international concerts.

His second album,” Red” (2004), and his third album, “Pioneer (2006), were also tremendous successes.

His musical career began in 1998 when he won the Star Search contest at Nairobi’s Carnivore discothèque. As part of the Ogopa Djs unit, he released his debut album, “Seasons of the San,” in 2002. This album’s hit singles “Julie” and “Wanipa Raha” catapulted him to prominence in the world of entertainment in Kenya, East Africa, and abroad.

He then began a solo career and released his second album through Southwest Records. It also featured the popular single “Bageya,” which was a collaboration with the Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone.

Red,” his second studio album, was released in 2004. It included the popular songs “Chicken”, “Malaika”, and “Apakatwe”.

Pioneer,” his third album, was released in 2006 with hit singles like “Kenyan” and “Touch.” As an artist, he continues to write every composition, sometimes in collaboration with others. He has toured in numerous nations around the globe. Redsan has acquired the moniker “Absentee Dance hall King” in Kenyan media due to his constant touring abroad.

In 2013, he collaborated with the Jamaican musician Demarco on a remix of his popular single “Badder Dan Most.” The single increased his airplay and expanded his musical reach. This was followed by a lucrative music contract with Rockstar4000, a Pan-African music company.

After releasing his third album, he founded his own studio and record label, Dutty Sounds. Redsan appointed Maich Blaq, the erstwhile head producer of Southwest, to lead his record label. He signed a number of artists, including Proff, whose debut single “Nataka Nijue” topped the Kenyan rankings for six weeks. The second single by Proff, “Data,” was a commercial success and dominated charts throughout east Africa.

His successful singles include “Mikono Juu”, “Chicken”, “unbreakable”, “Malaika”, “Step on it”, “Apakatwe”, and “Julie.”

One of his most popular song is “Julie” (also known as “Julie, My Lover”). It is a remix of the classic African love ballad “Unirudie rumi wee”/”nihurumie wangu we” (Have mercy on me). Both English and Swahili are present. It describes a male-female relationship in which the prospect attempts to woo Julie.

It is notable for its lyrics, message, and melodies. The song expresses a desire for a solitary partner during a period of sexual promiscuity due to ‘disease’ and a desire to remain faithful to the woman he wishes to marry.

He is a member of an organisation that promotes HIV/AIDS awareness and the eradication of destitution in Africa.[1]
