Russian Embassy In Ghana Blasts Kamala Harris For Spreading False Information At The Jubilee House Press Conference

The Russian embassy in Ghana has publicly challenged US Vice President Kamala Harris’ allegations that African countries have been negatively affected by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Harris allegedly blamed Russia for restricting grain exports, a development that was related to food security concerns resulting from the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The Russian Embassy tweeted on March 29 to dispute the US Vice President’s claim, stating that European authorities have admitted that Ukraine has supplied them with around 53 million tones of grain and other food items.

The Embassy tweeted a picture that said Harris’s comments were fake and gave what they say are the facts about Russia’s grain supply.

The description of their tweet reads, “The recent visit of US Vice President Kamala Harris to Ghana hasn’t gone without another portion of anti-Russian fakes that do not stand a simple fact-checking.”

The report stressed that the main reason for the apparent food shortage in Africa is “EU and American restrictions that prevent the shipment of Russian grain.”

In addition, the tweet showed that Europe received 45% of Ukraine’s total grain export volume, while Africa received only 3%.

When President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and other international leaders blamed the February 2022 Putin-led invasion for the country’s economic woes, the Embassy disputed the allegations.
