Sabinus Buys New Cars For His Besties Who Appears In His Skit
Oga Sabinus aka Mr Funny has generously purchased three brand new cars for his three close friends and longtime colleagues whom he often features in his comedy skits.
His besties, who are also talented content creators on their own, were each presented with a Toyota by Sabinus as a token of appreciation for their years of unwavering friendship and successful collaboration.
One of the recipients, known by his stage name Twizzzy, excitedly shared the wonderful news on his social media platforms, accompanied by captivating photos and videos showcasing their new cars.
Twizzy expressed heartfelt gratitude to Sabinus for his kind gesture and urged their fans to extend their thanks to the comedian and actor as well.
He wrote; “Sabinus just surprised us with 3 cars at once 😍😭🙏🙏🙏 Ladies & gentlemen pls help me thank Sabinus ooo 😭😭😭 thank you boss every time @Sabinus1_ @ajuicygeorge Make una help me thank @Sabinus1_ oo 😁😁”
Mr Funny embarked on his career journey in 2015, but it wasn’t until 2019 that he truly achieved mainstream success. During the inaugural edition of The Humor Awards Academy in 2021, he received a nomination alongside his fellow comedian, Basketmouth. Mr Funny’s comedic talent was discovered at a young age, and he actively started creating comedy skits while he was in university.
This happened during a School Student Union week in 2015. To further pursue his career, Mr Funny began uploading various comedy skits on his social media platforms, particularly Instagram. His efforts paid off when he caught the attention of top Instagram influencers who started sharing his skits, leading to a growth in his follower count.
In 2019, Mr Funny successfully broke into the comedy industry, and his popularity garnered significant recognition. He became the brand ambassador for Oddstackr, a popular betting site, among other notable achievements. Mr Ibu and Charles Inojie are some of the comedians who have influenced him in his career.
In the Legit.ng Awards 2022, he won the Best Male Skit Maker category, competing against Funnybros, Mr Macaroni, and Broda Shaggi.
Additionally, Mr Funny has made appearances in several Nollywood movies, including ‘Billionaire’s Bride’ and ‘Man of War’.
However, in May 2022, he took legal action against two Nigerian food companies for allegedly using his image and catchphrases without his permission.
Friesland Food was accused of using the trademarked phrase “something hoodge” to promote their Peak Milk product, while UAC featured an animated image of Mr Funny in their advertisements. Later in September 2022, Mr Funny made his debut in London as Oga Sabinus at The Lighthouse event centre.
