New reports suggest that the Second Lady Samira Bawumia would sponsor the education of Amina and Suleiman Fuseni, children of the late bodyguard, with assistance from Madam Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, the Chief of Staff.
This announcement was made yesterday during the Islamic intercession held to honour the soul of the deceased bodyguard, Fuseni, who tragically passed away recently on the Kumasi to Accra highway.
Notable figures who were present alongside the second family included Education Minister Dr Osei Adutwum, Dr Mustapha Hamid, CEO of the National Petroleum Authority, and Alhaji Ben Abdallah Banda, Chairman of the Ghana Hajj Board and Coordinator of the Zongo and Inner Cities Secretariat under the Office of the President.
Also in attendance were Justin Frimpong Koduah, the General Secretary of the NPP, Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu, Chief of the Naval Staff, and Commissioners of Police Seidu Lansah, the Singlana, Habiba Twumasi, among others.
During the funeral prayer held at the Kanda National Mosque, mourners were led by Alhassan Mumuni, the twin brother of the deceased.
Days ago, Samira Bawumia was involved in a fatal accident on Saturday, January 13, that led to the unfortunate death of one of her team members.
George Kwarteng Adenta, a member of Mrs. Samira Bawumia’s team, posted on Facebook to assure everyone that she was safe and unhurt while giving Ghanaians a glimpse of what happened.
Adenta shared the sorrowful incident on his Facebook page, stating:
“Earlier today, while travelling to Kumasi with the Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, a sprinter bus narrowly avoided colliding with the car of the Second Lady at Juaso but unfortunately ran into the two cars after hers. The Second Lady is safe and doing well. Regrettably, one of our team members lost his life instantly. This is very unfortunate. May our brother’s soul rest in peace, as we thank God for the life of the Second Lady and the rest of the team. Thank you all for your calls and messages.”
