Singer Lizzo Quits Music In An Emotional Announcement On Instagram

Singer Lizzo emotionally revealed in an emotional post on Instagram on Friday that she is quitting music for good because ‘she did not sign up for this.’.

In her statement, she expressed her frustration with what she perceives as falsehoods being spread about her. Currently, Lizzo is entangled in a sexual harassment lawsuit brought forth by three of her former dancers.

These individuals claim that Lizzo fostered a hostile work environment and subjected them to sexual harassment, allegations which the singer vehemently denies.

Additionally, she is facing another lawsuit from a former employee who alleges that Lizzo allowed bullying, harassment, and racial discrimination within her team.

In her statement on March 29, Lizzo expressed her weariness of constantly being the target of ridicule due to her appearance and having her character scrutinized by individuals who are unfamiliar with her. She emphasized the disrespect she feels towards her name.

Here’s what she posted:

I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet. All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.

I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views… being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look… my character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name I didn’t sign up for this shit- I QUIT

Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, has recently been in the spotlight for her involvement in political activities and the launch of her clothing line, Yitty.

Notably, she participated in a fundraising event for President Joe Biden in New York City on Thursday, joining a lineup of esteemed celebrities and former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama at Radio City Music Hall.
