Snowfall Creator Gives A Glimpse Of Season 6 Finale
Executive producer and co-creator of Snowfall, Dave Andron has discussed Snowfall’s unexpected series ending.
On Wednesday night (April 20), the FX series came to an end after six seasons, with Damson Idris’ Franklin Saint hitting rock bottom.
Following a fight with Veronique, Franklin subsequently discovered that Veronique had taken the majority of his remaining funds and fled to raise their child in a different nation while Franklin’s mother Cissy, who killed Teddy, ended up in jail.
Franklin pretty much ends up where he first started, and Andron told TVLine that it “breaks him” as the last of his cash runs out until he has nothing left.
“He fully breaks, and he gives up. After saying that he’s never going to do it, he just can’t,” Andron said.
“He can’t take it all in and cope with it, ending with that guy broken on the street that we started on very much felt like the surprising and yet inevitable end to our show.”
Andron was also asked if they had ever considered killing Franklin off, but, in doing this, he said it would essentially let him “off the hook”.
“I, personally, would shy away from him dying, partly because it felt a little easy, This is a guy who brought the devastation in his neighbourhood, brought cocaine into it [and] did everything he could to push it,” he shared.
“It just felt like for him to get killed was letting him off the hook. For him to have to live in the hell that he created, it felt like there was a certain level of dramatic irony in that.”

- Juan Javier Cardenas as Alejandro Usteves (season 1), a Nicaraguan Contra soldier and pilot who works with Teddy as a CIA asset by smuggling cocaine in order to fund a fight against the communists in Nicaragua.
- Isaiah John as Leon Simmons, Franklin’s best friend and second-in-command of the Family who is affiliated with the PJ Watts Crips.
- Filipe Valle Costa as Pedro Nava (seasons 1–2), Lucia’s cousin and a member of The Villanueva Cartel.
- Alon Aboutboul as Avi Drexler (seasons 1–5), an Israeli druglord and the head of a powerful Israeli crime syndicate who is formerly affiliated with Mossad.
