Sonnie Badu Reveals Why He Won’t Host Forthcoming Concert At Accra Sports Stadium

Sonnie Badu has announced that, despite his initial desire to host his upcoming ‘Rhythms of Africa’ concert at the Accra Sports Stadium, this venue will not be utilized in order to ensure the safety and comfort of attendees, protecting them from potential rain showers.

Badu revealed that previous concert-goers at both the Accra and Kumasi stadiums were unfortunately subjected to rainfall during his performance of the renowned song, ‘Open the floodgates’. In order to prevent a recurrence of this situation, he has chosen the Grand Arena in Accra as the venue for his forthcoming show on December 9.

“I have always loved monumental places, historical places. However, the reason why we couldn’t take the stadium this time around is because I don’t want the rain to beat patrons.

” If I start singing open the floodgates, it will rain. It happened in Accra, Kumasi, and even in Ivory Coast. The moment I started, a strong wind came, it started raining, and people stood in.

“Interestingly, the patrons always stand in the rain till the end of the show but my worry is that the rain affects the instruments. So this time around, I want people to experience what it would be like if there is no rain,” he explained in an interview on Hitz FM on Thursday.

Sonnie Badu is a significant figure in African gospel music. Unquestionably one of the world’s most consistently and well-liked live acts. His distinctive combination of close-knit worship, excellent visuals, and his vivacious way of leading audiences into God’s presence has changed lives.

He is a successful businessman, novelist, songwriter, producer, and founder of the Rockhill Church in Atlanta, Georgia.
