Sonnie Badu ‘Schools’ Ghanaians On Voice Quality Of Sing-A-Thon Contender Afua Asantewaa

Ghanaian gospel artiste, Sonnie Badu has jumped to the defence of Afua Asantewaa who is attempting to break and set a Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon over her voice quality.

Despite enjoying widespread support from the Ghanaian public in her attempt, there has been some criticism of Asantewaa’s voice quality from a section of the public.

But reacting to the criticism in a tweet sighted by TruNews, Sonnie Badu explained that rational behind the tone used by Asantewaa.

“So let me break this down, some of us cannot do what @afuaasantewaasingathon is doing. Those of u wondering why she is singing on a low tone, it’s very strategic – it’s the head voice. This does not stress the diaphragm 3 days singing nonstop to set a @guinnessworldrecords,” he wrote.

Afua Asantewaa, a journalist and entrepreneur at 12:00 am on December 24, commenced her sing-a-thon at the Akwaaba Village.

Asantewaa’s attempt, which is expected to end on December 27, 2023, will make her the record holder for the longest singing marathon, which is currently held by an Indian,  Sunil Waghmare who did a 105 hour sing-a-thon in 2012.

The attempt by Afua Asantewaa to break a Guinness World Record has received wide public support with thousands of Ghanaians trooping to the Akwaaba Village to cheer her on.

Support from personalities in the entertainment industry in Ghana for Afua Asantewaa in her Guinness World Record attempt for longest singing marathon keeps growing by the day.
