Tamale Radio Host Attacked By Former NDC Official During A Live Show

A radio personality for Dagbon Radio, Sadiq Abubakari Gariba, was attacked while broadcasting from Tamale in the Northern Region.

Former Deputy Communication Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region, Hardi Pagazaa, rushed into the building and began an altercation, which resulted in Pagazaa being assaulted.

Just before the incident, the panel was discussing the role of the Ghana National Fire Service in the region. The NDC member is overheard asking, “What have I done to you?” after they force their way in. The second man, who was with Mr. Pagaza, also yelled, “Stop mentioning his name if you don’t want to die.”

In an apparent attempt to drag the presenter out of the studio, he is seen on camera grabbing him by the neck. The host struggled fiercely to keep the man at bay.

According to JoyNews, at the very beginning of the broadcast, Sadiq Abubakari Gariba played an audio recording of the former NDC officer criticising him, but he chose not to respond.

“Before I started the show, I played a tape in which he mentioned me on a sister station. So I said, ‘No, this guy is not worth commenting on. I will not comment on him because he does not seem to be credible, and I do not want to discuss such people on my show.” he stated

In addition, Sadiq Abubakari Gariba revealed that he had already filed a police report.
