The Huge Sums Of Money NPP And NDC Spent In Assin North Can Establish 30 Factories – Kofi Akpaloo

Percival Kofi Akpaloo, founder and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), has claimed that amount of money used by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to influence voters in the Assin North by-election could fund the establishment of thirty factories in Ghana.

According to him, both the NPP and the NDC share responsibility for the country’s lack of progress. His comments follow a video showing members of both parties offering 200 and 300 cedis, to voters in an effort to sway their votes.

Kofi Akpaloo, commenting on the vote-buying techniques, stated that the amount of money both political parties gave out to the people in order to acquire political power in Assin North could “establish about 30 factories in the constituency.”

He claimed that in order to win over the locals, candidates from both the NPP and the NDC distributed free roofing materials and bags of cement. “Both the NPP and NDC have really paid huge sums of money in Assin North,” he stated.

On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, Charles Opoku of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) lost the election for a seat in parliament to James Gyakye Quayson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who received 17,245 votes (57.56 percent) to Opoku’s 12,630 votes (42.15); Sefenu Bernice Enyonam of the Liberal People’s Party (LPG) received 87 votes (0.29 percent).
