Trinity Guy Shares Sad Message After His Release From Prison

In July 2023, he was freed from prison after complying with his bail requirements. He sobbed over the dreadful conditions of the Nigerian prison and the depressing reality he encountered in a video that has been making the rounds on social media.

His colleague Cute Abiola posted news of his release on his Facebook page. According to Trinity Guy, a person who has never been behind bars hasn’t overcome any significant obstacles in life. He said with such vigour that prison is another world altogether.

The person he was talking to told him to calm down but it provoked him and he burst out saying; ‘Don’t tell me to calm down’ because there is no freedom there.

Trinity Guy was ordered to be detained at the Agodi Correctional Center in June this year by a family court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State, for the alleged sexual exploitation of a 10-year-old girl in a popular video clip.

The comedian was kept behind bars until Tuesday, July 11, when the matter will be heard. The minor’s parents, Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and his wife, Rofiat, 29, who were also charged with two charges of conspiracy and one count each of sexual abuse and exploitation, were also remanded by the court.

The defendants’ argument that the court lacked jurisdiction was rejected by the magistrate, P.O. Adetuyibi, who noted that a duplicate case file had already been filed at the state ministry of justice in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Reacting to the development, Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, using his verified Instagram page, @realyomifabiyi, said the prankster should be cautioned and advised on proper procedures.

“He sought parental consent; he never exposed his sexual organ to the child; he never sought to derive sexual pleasure at any time, and it was a skit/prank.

“All we want is a safer society for our children and ourselves. Intentions are what both the law and universe judge in every seen and unseen action,” his statement read in part.
