Update: Lil Tay Not Dead, Child Star Speaks On What Actually Happened To Her

Lil Tay has ‘returned from the dead’ to say she is not dead while detailing what actually happened to her after news of her death, announced from her own IG page went viral.

According to this new update shared by TMZ, the social media personality claimed her Instagram account was compromised — and used to spread “jarring misinformation” about her and her brother’s death.

In a statement provided to TMZ from Tay’s family, she tells TMZ, “I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say. It’s been a very traumatizing 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones all while trying to sort out this mess.”

She also says, “My Instagram account was compromised by a 3rd party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumors regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong. My legal name is Tay Tian, not “Claire Hope”.”

Tay expresses gratitude to Meta for assisting in getting her Instagram account returned and for removing the false death announcement. Why it took Tay 24 hours to announce her survival is still a mystery, especially considering that she claims to have known her account had been compromised and was receiving calls informing her of her “death.”

On Wednesday, August 9, 2023, Tru News Report, just like several international and local media outlets, reported that the youngster had died per a statement management issued.

“It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing,” Hope’s family announced on Lil Tay’s Instagram page, which has 3.3 million followers. “We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain.

This outcome was entirely unexpected and has left us all in shock. Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief. During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation. Claire will forever remain in our hearts, her absence leaving an irreplaceable void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her.”

The original publication states that the car she was riding in, which was being driven by her brother, collided head-on with another car. Jesse Ryan, a social media user who asserted to have seen the collision, wrote: “As someone who was there, I can confirm that both were together when passing.” because of an automobile accident. Brother was behind the wheel.

‘Local officials are speculating “texting and driving” is the cause. The other vehicle occupants were okay with minor injuries.’

Lil Tay’s lawyer father, Christopher Hope, declined to comment when contacted by DailyMail.com. In a tribute to rapper XXXTentacion after his passing in 2018, Lil Tay claimed she ‘did not have’ a father figure, suggesting that he and the social media star had a tense relationship.

After accusing Hope and his wife Hanee of physical and mental abuse, her brother Jason created a GoFundMe page to try and raise $19,000 for Lil Tay. Lil Tay’s absence was attempted to be explained online by Jason, who is not Hope’s son.
