US-Based Nigerian Bodybuilder, Michael Chidozie Dies Weeks After Being Shot By Wife During Argument

Nigerian bodybuilder, Michael Chidozie, who resided in the United States, tragically passed away within a month of being shot multiple times by his wife during a heated argument at their apartment in Houston, Texas.

The incident occurred on March 21, when Chidozie’s wife, Keaiirra Shavoiyae Chidozie, fired shots at him in front of their children.

The 26-year-old bodybuilder was immediately rushed to Ben Taub Hospital with gunshot wounds, while his wife was found in a state of panic in a nearby parking lot, holding their two young children aged three and two.

The police apprehended the wife and charged her for the shooting, while the children were placed under the care of a family member.

Despite being on life support, Chidozie’s condition worsened due to a severe spinal injury, ultimately leading to his demise 18 days later.

His wife claimed self-defence, stating that she feared for her life when Chidozie followed her into their bedroom during the argument.

The motive behind the argument remains unclear. Keaiirra, 28, has since been released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court again on May 23.

Meanwhile, Michael’s family and friends are trying to raise money to send his body back home to Nigeria.

GoFundMe has been set up to help the family with expenses.
