“You May Have To Change Seats, You’ve Been Getting On My Nerves Too Much” – Bagbin To Ursula

Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin expressed his displeasure with Ablekuma West Constituency MP Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, saying that she’s getting on his nerves too much.

The conflict started when Bagbin said something about the decision to postpone the voting on two of the president’s nominees for the Supreme Court after the House approved six ministerial nominees by a majority vote, even though the Minority had promised to vote against all of them.

Ursula asked a question that seemed to irritate Bagbin when he said that certain leaders in Parliament had approached him about postponing the vote on the justices in order to debate matters related to the District Assemblies Common Fund.

Bagbin asked the Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, to change her seat because of how she was acting. Ursula could be seen repeating, “This is my seat,” to emphasise that she would not be moving.

“Are you a leader? Honourable Minister for Communication, you may have to change your seat because you’ve been getting on my nerves too much. Please, please, please, please. Enough is enough! Please.” Alban Bagbin said.

MPs from the minority side began yelling at Ursula, and while she remained seated, several from the majority side went in to calm her down. The vote was eventually held, and both judges were accepted by a majority with a narrow vote
