You Need Lashings- Sister Derby Reacts To Sam George’s Throwback Video ‘Fighting’ For Gays

A throwback video has surfaced, shedding light on Sam George’s advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community despite being at the forefront of a bill in Parliament to criminalise their activities presently.

The video, which gained popularity on X (formerly known as Twitter), features the Ningo-Prampram MP expressing his concern about the excessive time spent discussing gay issues in the country. This new development has added a new discourse to entertainment in Ghana.

He emphasizes that the Ghanaian constitution guarantees equal rights for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation, and emphasizes the importance of protecting these rights at any expense.

“Irrespective of my personal opinion on homosexuality. The constitution remains supreme and the constitution of this country enjoins that everybody has rights and their rights must be protected. It is actually one of the preambles to the constitution of Ghana, the international declaration of human rights,” Sam George explained in the video, which was filmed in 2015.

Sister Derby deemed it appropriate to share the video as a means of criticizing Sam George for his blatant hypocrisy. Moreover, the renowned singer and influencer, known for advocating for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana, expressed her belief that the Member of Parliament deserves to face consequences for his contradictory stance.

Crabb wrote: “It’s the same stance…in 2015 he said we shouldnt give attention to it so it doesnt become a thing in Gh. Unfortunately we did; now kids are exposed to it so much that Sister Derby went to a school to talk to the kids that homosexuality is okay..that’s why he’s fighting it now.”
