50 Cent & P-Square Brawl: Paul Okoye Sets Record Straight

Paul Okoye, affectionately called Rudeboy, has refuted claims made by Eedris Abdulkareem that he and his brother, who make up the evergreen music duo P-Square were beaten by 50 Cent and his team during a concert in Nigeria.

Rudeboy clarified that the incident never occurred, and it was Abdulkareem who faced the altercation with 50 Cent’s security.

In a recent Instagram live session, Rudeboy mentioned that P-Square did not participate in the show as they couldn’t come to terms with the organizers regarding their performance fees. He also criticized Abdulkareem for accepting a lower payment from the organizers after negotiating a higher fee with Nigerian artists.

Rudeboy said: “P-Square did not go for the [50 Cent] concert. We had another concert. We were never billed. The reason was that they offered us peanuts, and we refused. But Eedris Abdulkareem accepted the peanut and was expecting VIP treatment. 50 Cent crew didn’t beat you well. “Respect yourself. P-Square was never billed for that concert. Daddy Showkey, Tony Tetuila, everyone is telling you guys that Eedris is a big liar. We know he is a lair. We were never billed for that concert. We didn’t go.”

Recall that Eedris Abdulkareem, as shared by Tru News Report, provided a fresh perspective on the alleged brawl that occurred between American superstar 50 Cent and several local artistes, including P-Square, during a major concert in Nigeria.

According to Abdulkareem, 50 Cent physically confronted and pursued these artists out of the backstage area during a concert organized by the Nigerian Breweries in 2004.

This incident took place on the first day of the concert at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos state. Abdulkareem also explained the root cause of their conflict, stating that 50 Cent’s security personnel approached him to leave the backstage, but he refused.

During an episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, Abdulkareem revealed that it was only through the intervention of one of the event organizers that a confrontation between him and the American artists was avoided.

Eedri said; “For the plane saga, it was the second day. A day before that time, we were at TBS at the backstage and when 50 Cent and his crew came backstage, they chased and flogged every Nigerian out of the backstage including P-Square.

“I just dey boil for where I dey. I was waiting for them to come and chase me. So, they finally came. When they came they asked me to leave that 50 Cent was coming. I said, ‘So what? Please, get the f*ck out of my face.’ They went to report me to one of the organisers and he told them to leave me alone. Na there the wahala for start, so they escaped that night.”
