Fans ‘Give It’ To 50 Cent For Praising Ed Sheeran’s Cover Of ‘In Da Club’

Fans were unimpressed with Ed Sheeran’s cover of 50 Cent’s classic Hiphop tune, ‘In Da Club’ and duly took to social media to make their opinions visible.

More importantly, they slammed the owner of the iconic song, 50 Cent, for praising Ed Sheeran for the song despite the apparent goof he made with his acoustic version. The British pop sensation performed as John Mayer’s opening act on Tuesday (September 19) at the Heart and Armor Foundation concert in Los Angeles.

During his set, he played a folk interpretation of the 1950s hit Get Rich or Die Tryin’. The Queens, New York native reposted a video of Sheeran’s performance on his Instagram, giving the guitar-driven interpretation of his upbeat song his seal of approval.

“Ed Sheeran right now in LA at the John Mayer concert Killing shit ! BOOM,” he wrote in the caption.

50’s Final Lap tour mate Busta Rhymes was also impressed by what he heard as he left a series of fire emojis in the comments section.

However, fans were not having it and they erupted in their numbers to express their displeasure.

“You should sue him like Marvin Gay estate for this horrendous act,” one outraged fan commented, while another wrote: “Cool tribute and all but this version is ass this could’ve been so much better.”

Others couldn’t help but to question 50’s taste for praising Ed’s cover, with one person writing: “You need to clean your ears out, 50. This is awful!”

That sentiment was shared by another user, who wrote: “Tbh that was whack 50. Totally killed your track right off.”
