50 Cent Reacts After Failing To Acquire BET

Rapper 50 Cent’s attempt to acquire BET has been unsuccessful. In May, the G-Unit entrepreneur expressed his interest in becoming a part-owner of BET, the renowned Black network currently under Paramount’s portfolio of networks, which includes MTV, VH1, and Nickelodeon.

He joined forces with director Kenya Barris and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, and enlisted the assistance of a CVC investment firm to make a bid for the BET Media Group.

However, on August 18, the Power executive producer announced on Instagram that he was unable to secure the network due to Paramount’s increased asking price, which left him dissatisfied.

“We will get them next time, @shaq that shit wasn’t worth 3,000,000,000. #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi,” he wrote.

In other 50 Cent news, Fat Joe has spoken out about their age-long beef with 50 Cent and how it improved his standing in the hip-hop community.

In an interview with Cam Capone News on Tuesday, July 25, Fat Joe admitted that looking back, he had no animosity against the rapper of “Many Men” despite their back-and-forth with each other. On the other hand, he said that it helped him by changing how people perceived him.

“Although I worked for everything I got, although I never extorted nobody, although I didn’t bully nobody,” the 52 year old said, “I had the persona of New York Suge Knight. Like, y’know, people feared Fat Joe and the Terror Squad in that way, y’know? So for [50 Cent] talking about Fat Joe in the same city … the funeral homes was making bids.”

Check out Joe’s comments, and him recalling “two of the most dangerous crews” going at each other back in the day, below:
