Abeiku Santana’s Biography

Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, popularly known as “Abeiku Santana” and born on February 16, 1977, is a Ghanaian media personality and entrepreneur. He is also the CEO of Kaya Tours Ghana Limited. Abeiku was born in his father’s hometown, Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana, but hails from his mother’s hometown, Saltpond in the Central Region of Ghana. Abeiku Santana is married for the second time to the beautiful Genevieve Benyiwah Aggrey after divorcing his first wife.

Education

He started his primary education at an early age in Koforidua at Nana Kwaku Boateng Experimental School and attended Ghana National College for his Ordinary Level certificate (O-Level). He later attended Koforidua Senior High School for his Advanced Level Certificate (A-Level). Abeiku has a master’s degree from the University of Cape Coast in tourism management and a postgraduate degree from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in public administration. He also has a degree from the New York Paralegal School in Legal Studies and Litigation. Abeiku also has an Advance Certificate in Public Relations and Advertising from the Ghana Institute of Journalism, which is not listed above. Abeiku Santana has another master’s degree from the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS).

Media and Entertainment

Abeiku started as Assistant Programs Manager at Radio Z in Koforidua. From 1991 to 2001, he was a Deputy Program Manager at Radio Mercury. He was the drive-time host for Ash FM 101.1 in Kumasi from 2001 to 2002. He later worked as a radio host and became Head of Music Programs and Events Promotion Coordinator at Adom FM, a subsidiary of Multimedia Broadcasting Group, from 2002 to 2010. Since 2010, Abeiku has been with the Despite Media Group’s Okay FM as a radio host. He has hosted numerous entertainment and cultural events, such as festivals and award ceremonies.

  • Abeiku Santana won the RTP Personality Of The Year at the 2021 Radio and Television Personality Awards. 
  • He was nominated for the PAV Ansah Communicator Award in the 2019 EMY Awards in Ghana. 
  • He won Special Recognition Award for Tourism Marketing and Promotion at the EMY Awards in 2020 for his contribution to tourism in Ghana.
