Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ Breaks Records As Spotify’s 2024 Most-Streamed Album In A Single Day

Beyoncé, the iconic Grammy-winning artiste, has once again made music history with the release of her latest album, ‘Cowboy Carter.’

The country album, which dropped on March 29, 2024, has swiftly become Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day of the year, setting a remarkable record in the music industry. In less than 24 hours after its debut, ‘Cowboy Carter’ soared to the top of Spotify’s charts, solidifying Beyoncé’s status as a trailblazer in music.

This achievement not only marks the first time a country album has held this title in 2024 but also underscores Beyoncé’s versatility and ability to captivate audiences across genres.

The success of ‘Cowboy Carter’ extends beyond Spotify, as the album also made waves on Amazon Music, breaking records and becoming Beyoncé’s biggest album debut to date.

With more first-day streams globally than any of her previous albums on Amazon Music, ‘Cowboy Carter’ stands out as a monumental release in the artiste’s illustrious career.

Prior to the release of ‘Cowboy Carter‘ on Friday, Beyoncé’s single “Texas Hold ‘Em” peaked at No. 1 on the U.S. Top 50 chart after being streamed more than 200 million times.

Featuring a 27-song tracklist and collaborations with music icons like Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, and Willie Nelson, ‘Cowboy Carter’ has resonated with fans worldwide.

In addition to revitalising country music, Queen Bey has cleverly ventured into the $3 billion-a-year genre, which has experienced consistent growth in both fans and artists.

In 2020, country music made up 14.7 percent of the market share for total music sales and streams in the US, a testament to its enduring popularity.

A music industry source said: “Beyonce has cleverly tapped into a hugely lucrative area which is often ignored by artists from other genres.

“She’s bulldozed the door down and reworked the style and sound perfectly.

“It’s estimated that her eighth album is going to be one of her most commercially successful to date, invigorating not only her existing fans, but those loyal to the country genre as well.

“It’s a genius move, which she has pulled off with aplomb and intelligence by really doing her homework and justice to the genre.”

Meanwhile, generous Beyonce sent huge bouquets of flowers to black female country artists.

Among the recipients was singer Mickey Guyton, who posted a snap of the white blooms to her Instagram with a card that read: “Mickey, Thank you for opening doors for me, queen. Keep shining. Love and respect, Beyonce.”
