EL Shares Keen Observation About Ghanaian Music Fans
Rapper EL has shared one keen observation he has made about his fans and music lovers in general within the terrain of the industry.
During a recent interview conducted in the studios of Hhitz FM by Andy Dosty, the former VGMA Artiste of the Year recipient said he has realized that Ghanaians love artistes who provide them with successive hit songs; otherwise, once they disrupt the momentum, they are easily shoved into oblivion.
E.L. claims he took a sabbatical for himself but realized Ghanaians don’t like singers who prefer to take pauses. E.L. is now promoting his newest EP, “The Teacher.”
“I just took a break from the limelight, not music. Consistency is important for an artiste and I have learned it. I have realised Ghanaian fans are insatiable. You have to keep it coming and I didn’t expect that,” he said.
Beyond that, the lanky rapper and producer, provided an explanation for his protracted absence from the music industry, claiming that after being named the Vodafone Ghana Music Award’s Artiste of the Year in 2016, he grew weary of making songs.
He explained that he felt no burning desire to keep doing music.
“My attitude and personality are that when I am hooked on something, I do it to perfection, then I find something else to do. That is my composition. After Artiste of the Year, the truth of the matter is I just got bored with the whole thing. I just didn’t feel taken aback or wild about everything,” he said on the Daybreak Hitz show.
