How I Lost My Job Because Of Alan Kyerematen – Boniface Gambila
The Upper East Regional Minister, Mr Boniface Gambila, has stated how he lost his position as Minister because of Alan Kyerematen during former President John Agyekum Kuffour’s era.
He stated that he was dismissed from his post due to his support for Nana Akufo-Addo over Alan Kyerematen. This statement comes in response to Mr. Alan Kyerematen’s withdrawal from the NPP’s flag-bearer race, citing alleged intimidation and mistreatment of his supporters, among other reasons.
Mr. Kyerematen has also announced his intention to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 presidential election. During an interview on Morning Starr with Naa Dedei Tettey on Wednesday, the former Minister and lawmaker for Nabdam Constituency expressed his deep disappointment over his dismissal, as he had been actively working for the development of his region.
“Some of us were sacked because of him. It was alleged that we were not supporting Mr. Kyerematen. I was a regional minister and I was sacked. So it was a difficult situation and when I was sacked I didn’t take heart, up till now I’ve not been happy. I was told that because I was in line with Nana Addo and so they sacked me.
“When I was sacked there was jubilation by Alan Kyerematen’s people but I didn’t mind. You see I was vindicated later in terms of honesty at work and in terms of development for the region and everything you can talk about in politics,” Mr. Gambila stated.
He continued: “So when the ball bounces back to you I can understand because you know what it means. You have done it before. So when someone apparently is doing it you feel so.”
Alan Kyeremanten, on Monday, September 25, 2023, announced his resignation from the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He indicated that he needed to leave the political party after years of persecution from the leadership of the party.
Parts of his speech said, “Under the circumstances and given the context provided, I wish to use this platform to announce that I am honourably resigning with immediate effect from the New Patriotic Party to contest for the high office of the President of the Republic of Ghana in the 2024 General Elections, as an Independent Presidential Candidate“.
“To actualise this goal, I will establish and lead a new MOVEMENT FOR CHANGE in Ghana. The brand logo for the MOVEMENT is the Monarch Butterfly, which politically symbolizeschange and transformation, hope, and positivity. It also communicates strength, endurance, spirituality, and trust, which are key traits that I cherish as a Political Leader. In Akan, it is known as Afrafranto. The brand motto of the MOVEMENT is “Ghana Will Rise Again,” which symbolizes hope for the future of Ghana.”
