Ayariga Warns Alan Kyerematen Over Presidential Ambitions
Hassan Ayariga, the founder of the All People’s Congress and former candidate of the People’s National Convention for the December 2012 presidential election has chided Alan Kyeremanten over his decision to break away from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and form his own party.
Ayariga who also exited the PNC and formed his own party as mentioned above, reminded Alan that if he is unpopular in his own party, there’s no way he will earn a massive endorsement from Ghanaians in general in relation to the 2024 elections after declaring his intention to be an independent candidate.
The astute politician also said Alan should act as a man before qualifying to become the president of Ghana. He said the mere fact that he ran away from minor challenges he faced within the party and the sabotage he claimed and his team encountered prior to the NPP’s superdelegates congress shows he lacks the capacity to handle issues properly.
Ayariga, who spoke to Kofi Adoma Nwanini on his Kofi TV platform, said the likes of Kennedy Agyapong and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are far more popular than Alan Kyerematen hence there’s no way he would have won the NPP primaries, let alone standing as an independent candidate for the presidency slot.
Ayariga lost to Edward Mahama in the People’s National Convention’s (PNC) presidential primary for the 2016 general election. In 2012, Ayariga defeated Mahama to become a contender for president. He left the party in 2016 to found the All People’s Congress (APC), citing irregularities and cheating.
After he satisfied the conditions, the Ghanaian Electoral Commission gave the party a provisional certificate; it has now been given a final certificate. Hassan Ayariga has commercial interests in Ghana and Germany and spent many years living and working there. He is married and lives in Germany with one of his five kids.
