Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, the founder of the Movement for Change, has emphasized the inclusion of private-sector financing for infrastructural development in his comprehensive Great Transformational Plan (GTP).
Mr. Kyerematen asserts that Ghana’s persistent underdevelopment can be attributed to the reliance on government budgets to fund developmental projects, despite the lack of adequate funds. He firmly believes that private-sector financing can effectively bridge this gap and expedite infrastructural development throughout the nation.
The GTP, a meticulously crafted 15-point plan, aspires to propel Ghana into a modern, industrialized nation.
It places significant emphasis on pivotal sectors such as industrialization, agriculture, energy, health, and education. Mr Kyerematen firmly believes that industrialization holds the key to job creation and economic growth, and he pledges to ardently pursue a robust industrialization policy should he be elected as president.
Furthermore, Mr. Kyerematen expressed his optimism in garnering support from various sectors, including the rank and file of political parties such as the NDC, NPP, CPP, as well as professionals and the general public.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, commonly known as General Mosquito, has expressed his concern regarding the derogatory remarks made by members of his political party towards Alan Kyerematen, an independent Presidential candidate for the upcoming 2024 election.
Nketiah firmly believes that people like Kyerematen and Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, who also distanced themselves from the party years ago, should not be subjected to criticism or insults. He argues that these individuals are actively engaged in a noble struggle for the secure and prosperous future of Ghana.
“I hear some of our members insulting people like Alan Kyerematen and others like him,” He said.
He added that Alan is “helping Ghana to get rid of a dictator and the dictator’s party…. This dictator is pretending to be a democrat…. Using state institutions to silence the voice of dissent.. So Alan is helping Ghana in reality” Asiedu Nketiah said on Angel FM.
