How I Survived Food Poisoning – Nana Ama McBrown Shares Near-Death Experience

Following the incident of John Kumah’s food poisoning, Nana Ama Mcbrown, an actress and TV host, has shared her distressing encounter with narrowly escaping a similar fate in the past.

Recounting her experience, Mcbrown revealed that she had dined at a local eatery with a friend, only to be the one affected by the poisoning.

She recounted how, just 40 minutes after consuming the meal, she was struck by a severe stomach ache, prompting her to seek medical attention at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

Mcbrown further revealed that her medical diagnosis confirmed the poisoning, leading to her inability to eat for four consecutive days.

“I went to eat at a particular place, and I nearly died. It looked like the food was poisoned. I wouldn’t say someone intended to poison or harm me. I was eating with another person, and she left at some point, claiming she was satisfied.

“After 40 minutes, I started experiencing severe stomach aches. I was taken to Komfo Anokye Hospital, and I spent two weeks there for medical treatment,” she said.

“I could not eat for four days because I was diagnosed with poison. I had to do that to clear the substances from my system,” she said, according to a video shared by Ghpage.

Although an autopsy conducted on Friday, March 8, 2024, by a certified pathologist concluded that the cause of John Kumah’s death was multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer, the issue of the initial food poisoning theory raised by Captain Smart continued to dominate the mainstream.

Before his death on Thursday, March 7, 2024, widespread reports were linking his death to poisoning.

However, a source close to the MP informed GhanaWeb that he had been diagnosed with multiple myeloma in early 2023 and was undergoing treatment.

Family sources also shared that he had returned from Germany before his health deteriorated, ultimately leading to his demise. Multiple myeloma specifically affects plasma cells, a type of white blood cell crucial for producing antibodies to combat infections.
