“I Have Regretted Voting For Nana Addo-Addo” – Rev. Dr Solomon Nortey

Rev. Dr. Solomon Nortey, an ordained Methodist pastor who supported Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for president has expressed his frustration with the country’s worsening economic crisis.

In a viral video sighted by Tru News Report The pastor didn’t hold back his criticism of the president’s leadership. He expressing his displeasure with Akufo-Addo’s performance in office despite his support during the campaign.

Speaking to his congregation he said he even fought his family for Akufo-Addo because he was so confident in his administration’s prospects.

“Before God and man, I voted for President Akufo-Addo. I’m not shy. I voted for him, but I have regretted doing that because, if you ask my mother, I fought them at home because she’s a strong NDC. And I was tired of the corruption of president Mahama because I sew some with my own eye in Dubai and I came back very angry from a meeting and I didn’t want to hear anything NDC. I fought them at home. Ask my mother; she is here.

“I fought them. I said the new era that is coming is the era of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. He also came and has disappointed me. I’m sure my father will be paining in his grave because he was a strong NDC,” he said.

The pastor went on to say that he had previously worked closely with former president John Agyekum Kufuor and been involved in politics at a high level, but was now exhausted by the state of affairs.

He reflected on his strong relationship with former president John Evans Atta Mills and said that his long career in politics had left him exhausted.

“We are tired. If you are not tired, me I am tired. Sometimes some people feel that as pastors, they don’t have to put themselves into politics and all that. I was on President Kufuor’s educational committee; | served on his committee. The committee that brought the four-year term, was the student representative on that committee. I’ve served for him. I was writing speeches for President Mills, so you re no more political than me. But look at the nonsense going on,” he added.
