‘If Kennedy Agyepong Can Threaten The President, Then Who Am I’ – Opambour

The General Overseer of the Ebenezer Miracle Worship Centre, Reverend Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, also known as Opambour, has spoken out in response to Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong’s recent rants and threats.

Reverend Opambour, appearing on Prophet 1 TV, urged Kennedy Agyapong to be humble and keep his cool, saying that his wrath would not help him achieve his political goals.

He offered some words of wisdom after Kennedy Agyapong’s threats aimed at President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at the NPP super delegates elections on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

The MP’s angry outburst over the alleged mistreatment of his North East Regional Polling Station agent was caught on camera.

Opambour, in response to Kennedy Agyapong’s actions, said, “So if it comes to showing leaders like that down and he becomes president, what will happen to me? Nobody can do anything; listen to what I am saying: Ghana belongs to God, and in the name of Jesus, no power can rise; God will make it bow. So, there is nothing that will happen.”

Further, he warned that showing anger and making threats could turn voters off and cause them to not support Agyapong’s campaign.

“The small advice I will give is that when you want to become president, you have to be humble and patient. When you become this angry, who will vote for you to become president? With such anger… So everything has to do with patience because, with patience, you shall achieve your result,” he stated.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President, won the most votes in the New Patriotic Party Super Delegates Conference. The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, secured the second position in the election with a total of 132 votes, which is 14.30% of the total votes. Alan Kyerematen, the former Trade Minister, got the third position with a total of 95 votes, representing 10.29% of the votes.
