Jonathan Majors Arrested For Assaulting Woman In NYC: Actor Denies Charges

Jonathan Majors, the 33-year-old actor best known for his roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Creed III, was arrested in New York City on Saturday morning after police responded to a call around 11 p.m. ET in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighbourhood for assault.

According to reports, Majors is being accused of assaulting a woman, who is allegedly his girlfriend, and strangling her over texting another female.

According to TMZ, the victim had visible injuries on her face, redness, and a laceration behind one of her ears.

After its initial report, the publication updated that the woman, who they claim is Majors’ girlfriend, reportedly told police that she and the actor were returning home from a bar in Brooklyn, when an argument broke out.

The publication concludes that the alleged incident occurred overnight Friday (March 24), leaving the woman to submit her report to the police the following morning (Saturday, March 25), and thus leading to his arrest shortly after.

Report says the rising Hollywood actor is now out of police custody and representative has spoken out about the incident, stating “He’s done nothing wrong. we look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”

This incident arises amid Jonathan Majors’ ascent to the upper echelons of the entertainment industry. Over the past few years, he has amassed credits in acclaimed films such as “The Last Black Man in San Francisco,” “Da 5 Bloods,” and “Devotion,” and the most recent as Kang in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” and despite mixed to poor reviews, his performance was praised. Yet just a few weeks ago, the actor was praised for his performance as the antagonist Damian Anderson in “Creed III.”

Michael B. Jordan, the film’s leading man and director, notably punched the actor to get him in shape for the part.
