Kuami Eugene Biography

Eugene Kwame Marfo, born February 1, 1997, better known as Kuami Eugene, is a High-life and Afrobeats singer-songwriter from Ghana.

Kuami Eugene was born in Akim Oda, Ghana, to Alex and Juliana Marfo. His early interest in music led him to sing in the church, where he also learned to play the percussion, keyboard, and guitar.[9] He attended the Akim-Wenchi Salvation Army Senior High School.

The young artiste, who was raised in Fadama, an Accra suburb, continued his education at Ghana Telecom University.

He is signed to Lynx Entertainment and Empire Distribution and is well-known for many tracks, including “Angela,” “Wish Me Well,” “Ohemaa,” and others.

Music Career

In 2018, he earned the Ghana Music Awards and Ghana Music Awards UK New Artiste awards. AFRIMA also awarded him with the Most Promising Artiste in Africa.

Kwame Eugene was nominated for seven Ghana Music Awards in 2019 and went on to win Album of the Year, Producer of the Year, and Highlife Artist of the Year. At the 2020 Ghana Music Awards, he won Artist of the Year and High-life Artist of the Year.


In 2016, Kuami Eugene competed in season 5 of the Ghanaian reality competition programme MTN Hitmaker, where he placed third overall.

Shortly thereafter, he was signed to Lynx Entertainment and has since released several hit singles. In 2017, “Angela” received one million views on YouTube, the most of any artist on that label, and was reportedly in rotation among Ghana’s top ten songs.

On December 25, 2017, he participated in Sarkodie’s Rapperholic concert in Ghana. December to Remember 2017, Edition of Ghana Music Honours Concert 2017, the 61st Ghana Independence Celebration Show at London’s Indigo 02.

Kuami Eugene has since performed on numerous additional venues, such as the Oh My Festival in Amsterdam, the Afrobeats to the World concert at the PlayStation Theatre in New York, and Afronation in Ghana.

In May 2022, Kuami Eugene released the single ‘Take Away’ and performed at Ghana’s Afrochella.
