Last Video Of Mr Ibu Just Before He Died Surfaces Online

A video has surfaced online showing the final moments of actor John Okafor, known by his screen name Mr Ibu.

The news of Mr Ibu’s passing on March 2 has left many in disbelief. In the video, Mr Ibu can be seen in a hospital bed wearing blue hospital attire, surrounded by at least four IV drips.

He expressed his gratitude towards renowned musician and one half of the musical duo Rudeboy (Paul Okoye) for his financial support and constant presence during his time in the hospital.

Mr Ibu credited Rudeboy for his generosity and stated that he believes Rudeboy’s kindness will ensure his place in heaven.

Mr Ibu’s death was confirmed by the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas Ejezie who said the actor died of cardiac arrest on Saturday.

“I announce with deep sense of grief that Ibu didn’t make it. Mr Ibu suffered a cardiac arrest according to his manager of 24 years, May his soul rest in peace,” Rollas said on his Instagram page.Ejezie said the loss of Ibu leaves a profound sadness in the hearts of fans worldwide.

He said Ibu with his remarkable talent and unparalleled comedic timing, reshaped the landscape of Nigerian movies, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.

“Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Ibu brought immeasurable joy to countless souls through his memorable performances. His infectious laughter and boundless energy transcended screens, bringing smiles to faces in every household across Nigeria and beyond,” he said.

The actor had been grappling with health problems since October 2023 and had undergone several surgeries that ultimately resulted in the amputation of his leg. Nevertheless, reports from his family in November suggested that he was making progress in his recovery.
