Leaked Audio: NPP’s Obiri Boahen Threatens To Leave And Setup His Own Party

Former Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, has stirred up controversy with a leaked audio where he is supposedly heard threatening to exit the party and establish his political entity due to perceived constant neglect.

In the audio, which has since gone viral, Obiri Boahen expresses his dissatisfaction with not being included in the party’s campaign for the 2024 elections.

He accuses the party’s flagbearer of disrespect and disregard, claiming that despite his efforts in advocating for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s candidacy, he has been sidelined.

Obiri Boahen laments being overlooked despite his past contributions and asserts that he has received calls urging him to form his own political party. He suggests that the NPP underestimates his influence and warns of potential repercussions for the party in the upcoming elections if he decides to depart.

“They have disregarded me. No one listens to me, so I’m going to form my own political party,” he is heard stating.

He further alleges that his absence from key party committees, including the manifesto team, reflects a lack of recognition for his dedication.
