NPP Parliamentary Primaries: Kennedy Agyapong Promises Showdown Exposé If Bantama Delegates Retain Asenso-Boakye

In the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries, Kennedy Agyapong, a former flagbearer hopeful, has issued a stern warning to delegates in the Bantama Constituency against voting for the incumbent Member of Parliament, Francis Asenso-Boakye.

Agyapong, whose brother Ralph Agyapong is contesting against Asenso-Boakye, accused the current MP of corruption and urged delegates to cast their votes against him.

During a meeting with party delegates, Agyapong expressed his disapproval of voting for what he deemed a corrupt MP like Asenso-Boakye.

He emphasized his straightforward approach, stating, “I don’t mince words. I don’t care how you feel. I am telling you the gospel truth because Ghana first.”

Agyapong reiterated allegations of bribery against Asenso-Boakye, referencing a claim by Claude Convincer Davit, the CEO of Alafei Food. Davit had accused the former Deputy Chief of Staff of soliciting a $20,000 bribe to facilitate a meeting with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Highlighting his previous warnings about individuals at the Jubilee House demanding money before granting access to the president, Agyapong asserted that he was referring to Asenso-Boakye.

He further cautioned delegates that if Asenso-Boakye is retained, he will unleash a series of exposés against the current Bantama MP.

Agyapong, who is the current Member of Parliament for Assin Central, urged the delegates to vote for his brother, making it clear that if they make the mistake of retaining Asenso-Boakye, revelations would follow.

He issued a challenge, stating, “If you don’t want me to talk, vote against him. If you want me to talk, vote for him, and I challenge you because we won’t allow you to destroy Ghana. We have no other place to go, he stated.

The NPP parliamentary primaries in the Bantama Constituency are scheduled for January 27, 2023, where delegates will choose their parliamentary candidate for the 2024 general election.
