Lilwin Suspends Political Ambitions Ahead Of 2024 Elections

Ghanaian actor and filmmaker, Lilwin, real name Kwadwo Nkansah has announced that he has decided to temporarily suspend his political ambitions for this year.

Previously, he had expressed his intention to run as an independent candidate for the position of Member of Parliament, aiming to represent the constituents of the Afigya Kwabre North constituency in the Ashanti region.

However, due to financial constraints, he has made the difficult decision to postpone his campaign, as he lacks the necessary funds to conduct a robust and effective election campaign.

Furthermore, he reiterated his stance of not aligning himself with either the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) or the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He emphasized that he maintains friendships within both parties and therefore prefers to refrain from participating in their rivalry and becoming entangled in the midst of it.

“I am no longer contesting… I will be contesting the next four years… I am waiting for that. I am going independent.’

“Likewise, I can’t join a political party because I love both parties and have friends everywhere,” he told Andy Dosty.

In other news, the actor, during his appearance on UTV’s United Showbiz, expressed his determination to take action against bloggers and entertainment pundits who criticise his movie, A Country Called Ghana, without actually watching it or having accurate information about its content.

This decision comes in response to negative comments made by Mr Logic and Kwadwo Sheldon, regular pundits on United Showbiz and a popular YouTuber, respectively.

Lilwin firmly believes that his movie is of exceptional quality and will generate significant buzz for months to come, given the immense effort put into its creation.
