Lionel Messi Apologises After PSG Suspended Him

Lionel Messi has apologized on social media a few days after his club issued a disciplinary measure against him.

After being suspended by Paris Saint-Germain for entering Saudi Arabia without authorization, Lionel Messi has expressed contrition.

Messi was fined by the French team for travelling on a sponsored trip to Saudi Arabia, and it is unlikely that he will participate in the games against Troyes and Ajaccio.

In reaction to the criticism, the Argentine star has expressed regret to the team and his colleagues, claiming that he believed incorrectly that he had the day free and was unable to reschedule the trip.

Messi said in a broadcast on social media: “Hello. Well, I wanted to make this video after everything that’s going on. First of all, I apologise again to my teammates at the club.

I honestly thought that we were going to have the day off after the game as we had done before. I had organised this trip to Saudi Arabia, which I had previously cancelled and I couldn’t go. Once again, I apologise for what I did. So here I am, waiting to see what the club wants to do, nothing more. A hug.”

Previously, Tru News Report mentioned that Paris Saint-Germain has suspended Lionel Messi for two weeks for skipping training on Monday to visit Saudi Arabia.

Messi won’t be paid during his suspension, and he won’t take part in practice or games for the starting lineup, according to ESPN.

The PSG manager, Christophe Galtier, reportedly told his players that if they won against Lorient on Sunday, they would get Monday and Tuesday off from exercise, but if they lost, they would have to show up for a session on Monday.

Messi requested authorization to honour his sponsorship arrangement as a Saudi ambassador, and Luis Campos and Galtier authorized it in the event of a win or a draw and not a defeat.

However, sources told ESPN that Messi flew to Saudi Arabia without getting another approval, which prevented him from participating in practice on Monday after PSG’s humiliating 3-1 loss to Lorient, their third loss in their previous four league games.

The incident reportedly caused tension in the locker room and disturbed some players, according to sources who talked with ESPN.
