M.anifest Recounts How Eno Barony Beat Him In A Rap Battle

Rapper M.anifest has spoken highly of his industry colleague Eno Barony and recalled fondly how she beat him in a rap battle at an undisclosed radio station some years ago.

M.anifest, who has earned his name in the folklore of rap music in Ghana and Africa gave Barony her flowers by highlighting her incredible talent.

Speaking in an interview, the rapper described Eno Barony in the music space as the “breaking of the glass ceiling moment.”

“I remember the first time I was on the radio station with her when I saw her, she out-rapped me, I was like ‘oh my goodness, who is this one?’” he said

The award-winning rapper however rightly observed that the industry has not been fair to Barony because she is a female.

The truth about why there aren’t many women involved in hiplife and the music space is that the space unfortunately is still quite sexist. It is difficult for a woman to operate in these spaces, whether it is as simple as night sessions in the studio.

He further advised that women should be given equal opportunities in the music space for the industry to thrive.“If we want to succeed, bring the gals dems.”

Similarly, M.anifest praised his younger colleague Black Sherif, saying the ‘Kwaku the Traveller’ hitmaker is not afraid of death.

The rapper recently told Pulse Ghana in an interview that one of the reasons Black Sherif has endeared himself to the masses is the fact he has remained true to himself.

“Black Sherif, it’s already taking place.” Of course. He really is unique, that much is certain. Along with being gifted, he is conscious of and obviously living out his purpose.

“For his age, I have heard him speak on interviews, and I can see a gradual progression, and he is definitely pursuing his destiny,” the interviewer said. “He has no fear of dying and doesn’t hesitate to be himself, and that always appeals to people you know,” M.anifest said.

According to M.anifest, while other artists aim to wow their fans with the same template, Black Sherif takes recourse to a different route altogether that suits him.

“Many individuals act in ways they believe many people would find appealing and want to hear.” It vibrates and sounds like it’s from his soul. He said, “Much love to the dude,” M.anifest concluded.
