Mahama Promises To Give Jobs To Deserving NDC Members Into Security Service

Former president of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has promised to give jobs into deserving NDC members in the security services and other governmental agencies.

Additionally, he pledged that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will award all of its female organizers, particularly those who reach the goals they have set for themselves in the general elections in 2024.

According to Mr Mahama, they will receive contracts to prepare meals for schoolchildren as part of the National School Feeding program as compensation. In his interactions with NDC delegates in Nanton as part of his bid to become the party’s flagbearer for the elections of 2024, Mr Mahama also gave the party’s youth the assurance that they would gain from their recruitment into the Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces, and the Ghana Immigration Service.

“We are also going to reward you and so any branch that gets the target votes that we are going to give, all the nine-member executives, we are going to give you a very handsome reward so that we can work hard,” he said.

He added “Whatever we are going to do for Ghanaians you will also get your fair share. So if we are going to recruit young people to go into the Armed Forces, into the Police, Immigration, Prison Service and Fire Service, we will come and take you our young people and you also go and work in those services.

“If we are hiring school feeding caterers, our women organizers too know how to cook, we will come and take our women organizers and you also go and cook for the primary school children and make some money for yourselves and so you are going to get your fair share of everything the country has to offer.”

NDC Loses 2020 elections

According to former president John Dramani Mahama, the fact that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) narrowly won the 2020 elections was a blessing in disguise.

He asserted that the NPP had fallen into a ‘big hole’ that had been dug by the Akufo-Addo-led government, which would have made it difficult for the NDC to rule the country if they had emerged victorious in the 202o general elections.

“[But] God said, ‘NDC, stand aside. Let those who dug their hole fall into the hole. And today, they have fallen deep into the hole,” the former president of the Republic of Ghana told party supporters during one of his recent tours ahead of the NDC primaries scheduled later this year.

He actually delivered this speech while speaking to party members at the Amazing Hotel in Zebilla, Upper East Region. The former President is canvassing the country for support to lead the party once again in wrestling power from Nana Akufo Addo.
