Mahama Will Be NDC’s Presidential Candidate With Over 95% Votes; He’ll Likely Retain Opoku-Agyemang – Ablakwa

North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has predicted a landslide victory for former President John Dramani Mahama in the National Democratic Congress’ presidential primary for election 2024.

The former Deputy Education Minister, who served under the former President John Dramani Mahama, did not give any further details for his prediction.

The prediction is part of the young MP’s list of forecast for the year 2023 which he posted on his Facebook page.

“Former President John Mahama will emerge victorious from the 2023 NDC Flagbearer Primaries with more than 95% of valid votes cast” the post said.

He also posted that, “Former President John Mahama expected to retain Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as his Running Mate for the 2024 presidential election.”

Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who became the first woman in the NDC and in Ghana to be a running mate for a major political party, partnered John Mahama in the 2020 elections.

Her selection followed the demise of Amissah-Arthur, the then Vice President who served as Mr. Mahama’s running mate in the 2016 election.

The National Democratic Congress will elect its flagbearer for the 2024 presidential elections this year.

So far, apart from John Mahama who has hinted his readiness to contest again, a former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, is the other likely contestant in the race.
