Marry A Kind Partner Because Love Fades – Basketmouth’s Ex-Wife Advises

Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, recently ended his 12-year marriage to his wife, Elsie.

He broke the news of his divorce in a social media post on Thursday. The couple got married in 2010, and they have three children: Janelle, Jason, and Maya Okpocha.

Basketmouth said that he and his wife will continue to care for their beautiful children with all the care, love, and guidance they can.

Miss Elsie, ex-wife of Basketmouth, hinted subtly in a video from a few years ago that the couple’s love may have faded with time.

After the divorce, many netizens started wondering what had occurred, and someone dredged out an old video in which Mrs. Okpocha gave marriage advice to ladies in which she cautioned ladies against basing their marital happiness only on romantic feelings.

She encouraged single ladies to take their time in finding a life mate because marriage is forever.

“Love is crucial in marriage, but it shouldn’t be the thing that guides you since love fades, so make sure you use your head, instead of your emotions before you tie the knot.”

“Marriage is a lifetime commitment, not a holiday. When two people get married, neither one of them expects to end up divorcing.”

When asked about the key to a successful marriage, she said on the recording, “Marry someone that has sense.”
