NPP Sacks 2 Former Executives For Touting Mahama’s 24-Hour Policy

The NPP in the Sagnarigu constituency of the Northern Region has taken disciplinary action against two former party executives for promoting John Dramani Mahama’s flagship 24-hour policy ahead of the 2024 elections.

The individuals who have been dismissed are Abdallah Murjana Wurishie, the Electoral Area Women’s Organizer, and Mohammed Osman, the Electoral Area Chairman for Wurishie.

According to the information provided, both individuals have claimed to have defected to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

A statement issued by Alhaji A.R. Ridwan, the NPP Sagnarigu constituency secretary, stated that the two were observed accompanying the NDC parliamentary candidate during campaign activities against the NPP.

The statement reads:

You have been seen in the accompanying of an NDC parliamentary candidate going around campaigning against the party (NPP). Despite the fact that you are still on suspension, you continue to flagrantly breach the party’s constitution, particularly Articles (4) and (7) (a), (e). (f), and (g).

In line with Article 3(9) (1) of the NPP Constitution, it provides as follows: “A member of the party who stands as an independent candidate against the officially elected member of the party, or who joins or declares his or her support for another political party, or for un independent candidate, when the party has sponsored a candidate in a general or by-election, automatically forfeits his or her membership in the party.”

In regards to these constitutional provisions, it is the view that Mohammed Osman and Abdallah Murjana have automatically forfeited their membership in the party. Therefore, they are no longer members of the party. I will entreat all NPP fraternities to remove them from all the NPP social media platforms.
