One Dead, Nine Injured In Tragic Incident At GloRilla And Finesse2Tymes Concert

One woman was killed and nine others were injured during a crowd surge at a GloRilla and Finesse2Tymes concert at the Main Street Armory in Rochester, New York.

The incident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. on March 5 at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, where the two rappers were performing as part of a nationwide tour.

According to witnesses, the surge occurred during GloRilla’s performance, causing concertgoers to panic and rush for the exits, resulting in several people being crushed.

Chief of Police David Smith stated that the department is investigating a number of potential causes for the increase in fatalities, including “possibly crowd size, shots fired, pepper spray, and other contributing factors.”

Rochester Police provided an update after a woman was killed and nine others were injured in a stampede after a concert on Sunday.

The injured were transported by emergency services to nearby hospitals, where they are being treated for a variety of injuries, including broken bones and lacerations. The identity of the deceased has not been made public pending family notification.

GloRilla, a Memphis rapper who was performing at the concert, tweeted that she had just learned what occurred at the venue after the show and that she is “praying everybody is ok.” The police are currently investigating the incident.

Mayor Malik Evans deemed the fatal stampede “totally unacceptable” and vowed to conduct a comprehensive investigation to determine if the venue’s operators had adequate safety measures in place for large crowds.

Fatal crowd surges have been a recurring tragedy at concerts and other large events in the United States and around the world. In order to prevent similar tragedies in the future, it is hoped that lessons will be learned from this incident.
