Prophet Emmanuel Adjei Hails Agyinasare For Calling Bluff Of Nogokpo Chiefs

The head pastor and general overseer of Prophetic Prayer Palace International, Prophet Emmanuel Adjei, has stated that he would have stopped worshipping God had Archbishop Charles Agyinasare complied with the 14-day ultimatum handed him by the chiefs and elders of Nogokpo.

According to him, Archbishop Agyinasare’s clarification that he was not intending to offend anyone should have been enough, even though the archbishop made an error in his initial remark regarding Nogokpo, which many people found upsetting.

During an interview on Black Rasta’s UrbanBlend show on 3FM in Accra, Ghana, the prophet Adjei said, “I was in Canada when I heard the story, and I think the people were extremists. They went too much. Agyin-Asare came out and made a statement. He is a statesman. He’s been in ministry for years. He has a track record. He is not a man that creates controversies. He has a good track record.

“And then he slips and makes a statement, and now he comes back to the same location and retracts, I think it should die there. You overstretch the issues, why do you have personal interests?”

Prophet Adjei went further to say that if the archbishop, whom he holds in such high esteem and views as a mentor, bowed to the intimidation and command by the Nogokpo tradition leaders, he would have been disappointed and stopped worshipping God.

“Hey, I said if the Archbishop had gone to Nogokpo, I would have stopped worshipping God. Because I will feel so ashamed and disappointed because we see him as a father, we see him as a mentor, and a leader. Now you leave our territory and go there, I’ll feel very disappointed.

“I respect every religion, but they can’t do anything. Our soul and body is in the hands of God. If God has not predicted our death, it won’t happen. The Bible says a curse without a curse shall not stand. I have not disrespected them, I have not abused them, and I said they went extreme,” he added

In a sermon given in late May, Archbishop Agyinasare referred to Nogokpo as the “demonic headquarters” of the Volta Region. As Tru News Report previously published, the man of God was ordered to appear before the religious leaders of Nogokpo in the Ketu South Municipality in 14 days.

The General Overseer previously stated that he did not want to insult any particular group of individuals or community, calling it “unfortunate” that “any misrepresentation or misinformation that has characterised the subsequent commentary and reportage”

In an effort to mediate a peaceful resolution to the conflict, the National Peace Council met with Nogokpo’s traditional elders last week. But they said they wouldn’t let it go. The Archbishop was given a week to deliver a full and sincere apology and take back his offensive remarks, after which they apparently reconsidered their initial demand.
